Sentinel International Forwarding, Inc. was founded in August of 1988 in Issaquah, Washington by the present owner, president and CEO.

Sentinel has always been, and will continue to be, a totally dedicated, family owned, service provider in the international household goods and personal property shipping programs sponsored by the United States Department of Defense (DOD) and the Surface Deployment & Distribution Command (SDDC).

J.W. (Jim) Westbrook, the president and CEO, has a long and dedicated career in the business of providing quality international shipping services to the uniformed and civilian members of the United States Armed Services. Jim has been engaged, in one way or another (driver/packer, warehouseman, dispatcher, manager, owner and international forwarder) for the better part of 50 years.

J. Mark Westbrook, the Vice President and general manager, also brings over 10 years experience in the international forwarding business, both in the U.S. Military as well as in the commercial market.

Both Jim and Mark have lived and worked in overseas assignments (Europe) and pride themselves on those experiences. They consequently bring with them those special abilities to understand and deal with the needs of our customers who are being relocated to an overseas assignment.

The company is a member in good standing of the Household Goods Forwarders Association of America, Inc. (HHGFA) and the American Movers & Storage Association (AMSA). Sentinel is a founding member of the Household Goods Forwarders Tariff Bureau (HHGFTB) and the International Shippers Association (ISA). In addition, Sentinel is also a participating member of the Claims Prevention & Procedure Council.

The goals of our company are, and shall remain, the absolute and total commitment to providing the highest possible levels of quality services to the U.S. Military members, their families and colleagues.
